Columbus is honored to have been selected by NOAA as one of the awardees of the ProTech Weather contract vehicle. ProTech Weather is one of four domains in an overarching $3 Billion IDIQ contract vehicle focused on agency-wide strategic procurement. The ProTech Weather domain covers a wide variety of scientific, engineering, and program management services to support NOAA’s operational weather forecasting, atmospheric modeling, severe storm warning, and climate monitoring functions. The primary Line Office supported by this domain vehicle is the National Weather Service, but it is open to all offices and programs across NOAA and the Department of Commerce with work related to weather science, studies, data, and products.
Columbus was named as one of nine Large Business prime contractors on ProTech Weather, and in addition, we are the mentor partner of a Joint Venture named MSM Columbus Ventures, one of three Service Disabled, Veteran Owned small businesses awardees on the contract. Columbus brings considerable experience derived from our broad-spectrum engineering support; weather satellite design, communications, and operations; and scientific data analysis, visualization, and integration.
