Columbus develops software for a broad spectrum of use cases — including business applications, web applications and the flight and ground systems that power our customers’ aerospace missions.

We bring expertise in all areas of software development. As a result, customers like NASA trust us to support complex operations like the Goddard Space Flight Center and Mars 2020 mission.

In each mission, we support one-of-a-kind systems that use intelligent, programmable computers and micro-controllers. Our engineers are fluent in various operating systems, tools and software languages — allowing them to purpose-build solutions for any set of requirements.

All flight software is engineered to perform in extreme space environments. Using agile and hybrid-agile methods, we space-test and refine the product to verify that it meets standards for security and resilience. After deployment and launch, we provide ongoing support to ensure high performance throughout the design life.

Ground & Flight System Software Development

  • We are experienced in defining requirements; designing, building and integrating system software; conducting V&V and acceptance testing; and overseeing deployment and post-launch maintenance.

Application Software Development

  • Developing administrative applications that enable new business processes and training
  • Building web-based software to support the collection, sharing, integration and analysis of environmental data
  • Developing and testing software patches in real time for continuous maintenance

Science System Development

  • Capabilities in the engineering, development, and implantation of instrument algorithms for data reduction, visualization, quantitative analysis and ground-to-ground and space-to-ground communications.
  • We provide calibration, modeling, analysis, test, maintenance, and modernization program support for scientific applications and systems.

Certifications & Compliance
