Dr. Anthony (Tony) Maranto has more than 30 years of professional experience as a program manager, business leader, researcher and educator. He currently serves as a member of the Columbus leadership team and is responsible for the firm’s strategic growth, identifying and leading the effort to capture new business opportunities, and ensuring the firm continues to meet customer expectations. Dr. Maranto leads Columbus’ overall business development efforts, strategic initiatives, and partnership development activities across all of our technical divisions serving NASA, NOAA, FAA, DoD, NIH and other federal markets.
Dr. Maranto hold a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, and a master’s degree and doctorate in environmental science with a focus in environmental chemistry. He has held multiple leadership positions in private industry, academia and government including serving as director of the chemistry and biochemistry laboratories at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and as the former director of the state of Maryland’s radioecology laboratories.Dr. Maranto is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute. He has served in a leadership role for the Society of American Military Engineers and is also a long-time member of the American Chemical Society, the National Association of Ordnance and Explosives Contractors, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Maryland Space Business Round-Table, and the National Military Fish and Wildlife Association.
