Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. moved its corporate headquarters from Pasadena, CA to El Segundo, CA on June 7th, 2011.


Greenbelt, Maryland Office Opened

We are pleased to announce the opening of our Greenbelt office. This office supports our East Coast operations including the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Software Engineering Support (SES) contract. The office is located at 7500 Greenway Center Drive Suite 1600 Greenbelt, MD 20770.

Columbus Awarded FAA Contract

Columbus  has been awarded a contract by the FAA for Computer Facilities Operations, Software Maintenance and Development Support and Library Services.

The contract will support the Laboratory Services Group- responsible for the Maintenance and Operation of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) National Airspace System (NAS) laboratories and supporting facilities.


Columbus Receives Thomas H. May Legacy of Excellence Award

Columbus received the Thomas H. May Legacy of Excellence Award at the 22nd Annual High-Tech Small Business Conference on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The Thomas H. May Legacy of Excellence Award is an annual award presented by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to a small business for excellence in subcontract performance. This is a center level award that is presented to honorees during the annual Small Business Symposium and Awards Ceremony. The award was established in memory of Mr. Thomas H. May in honor of his life-long dedication and efforts to small business utilization.


Columbus Research Center Plays Role in Moon Water Findings

The surprising finding of water traces on the moon in September 2009 changed much about our perception of the moon and how NASA will plan future exploration missions. One of the three spacecraft involved in this finding is Chandrayaan-1. The NASA-built Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) instrument on board the Chandrayaan-1 is a state-of-the-art imaging spectrometer that is designed to identify and map the minerals and rock compositions across the lunar surface using visual and infrared reflected sunlight.

Under contract with Brown University, the Columbus Bear Fight Research Center was a central player in this effort.


Columbus Awarded Contract at Lackland Air Force Base

Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. was awarded a contract by Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio Texas. This contract provides Project Management, Technical Support and Administration.


Software Engineering Division Achieves CMMI level 2 certification

On March 27 2009 Columbus Technologies and Services' Software Engineering Division achieved Capability Maturity Model Integration CMMI level 2 certification.

Columbus Welcomes Navy Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Team

Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. is pleased to introduce our AIM team, which assists the NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division (TSD) in development and user community support of AIM, the Navy's leading instructor-led learning content authoring and maintenance software tool. Over the past 15 years, the Navy has developed and now maintains more than 400,000 hours of instructor-led technical training material in AIM. Our team designed, developed, and supports that software tool and is now deeply engaged with the Navy's Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) team in re-engineering the way sailors are trained and provided performance support tools in the fleet as part of the ongoing Revolution in Training (RIT).
