Columbus Welcomes Navy Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Team
Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. is pleased to introduce our AIM team, which assists the NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division (TSD) in development and user community support of AIM – the Navy’s leading instructor-led learning content authoring and maintenance software tool. Over the past 15 years, the Navy has developed and now maintains more than 400,000 hours of instructor-led technical training material in AIM. Our team designed, developed, and supports that software tool and is now deeply engaged with the Navy’s Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) team in re-engineering the way sailors are trained and provided performance support tools in the fleet as part of the ongoing Revolution in Training (RIT). Our processes are CMMI Level 2 compliant. Our technical team is located in our new Columbia, MD, facility and led by
Jim Ferrall, the team’s long-time Program Manager.

We are pleased to welcome Harry Herbert to the Columbus management team and Board of Directors. Mr. Herbert has over 25 years of IT experience including 15 years of technical management in support of space physics related software development, engineering and IT infrastructure.
Columbus Welcomes New Research Center
Columbus Technologies and Services, Inc. is pleased to introduce our Research Center which provides space science mission planning, instrument design and science data analysis for several international satellites to a variety of research organizations including JPL, UCLA, Brown University and NASA Headquarters. Recent
research activities include studies of the composition and structure of the surfaces of Solar System objects and optical properties of geologically interesting materials. Known as the
Bear Fight Center, directed by

Columbus Makes Red Cross Tsunami Donation
Columbus and its employees donated over $7,000 to the American Red Cross in support of emergency relief efforts to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami devastation in Southern Asia and Eastern Africa. These contributions will assist the ravaged area in gaining stability through the provision of immediate relief assistance and long-term development assistance in the arduous task of rebuilding begins for hundreds of thousands affected by this tragic event.
