The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) is the Navy's source for a full range of innovative products and services that provide complete training solutions. This includes requirements analysis, design, and development, and full life cycle, continuous learning support for aviation, surface, and undersea operations. On the Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM)/Electronic Training Environment (ETE) Contract, Columbus provides program management, CMMI Level 2 Process compliant software engineering, and technical support services . The AIM/ETE contract is a Fixed Price/Time & Material (FP/T&M) contract; Columbus has an excellent history of controlling costs
Examples of our AIM/ETE support include: Software Engineering Columbus provides software engineering support including development and maintenance using CMMI Level 2 processes of the GOTS toolset Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), an automated training content authoring tool for instructor-led training and integrated design of self-paced training. We provide management of multiple simultaneous delivery orders and is responsible for administration, financial, clerical, and supervisory functions, including staff recruitment and retention, benefits administration, training, security clearances, and compliance with U.S. Navy standards, regulations, and guidelines. Supporting Services Support for the AIM Functional Requirements Board in evaluating change requests and controlling changes to the AIM system. Columbus provides technical support in R&D, software engineering, training, documentation, post-deployment, and help desk support. Columbus follows the Plan, Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate method of Instructional Systems Design for instructor-led training and integrated design of self-paced training. CMMI Level 2 Processes The Columbus Team applies CMMI Level 2 processes and procedures to the design, development, testing, delivery, and lifecycle support of both desktop and web-based applications. For NAVAIR, this approach has proven effective and ensures consistency in design, development, test and implementation standards, encourages use of industry best practices for code reuse and modularity, ensures applications are coded to defined standards, and maintains variable and table name consistency. Columbus was successfully appraised for Level 2 compliance in March 2009.
