Cooperative Administrative Support Unit (CASU) The Mid America CASU is a nationwide multi-agency contract hosted by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide solutions in IT, engineering, logistics, management and administration. - End Customers Include: CDC, Virginia Army National Guard, etc.
- Columbus provides a wide range of technical and business support services including:
- Plan research directions, conduct experiments and provide scientific analysis of vector-borne infectious diseases (Lyme disease, malaria, etc.) for the CDC
- Conduct a variety of experiments, and analyze results through compilation, reduction, and analysis on projects designed to develop safe and effective flavivirus vaccines, therapeutics, and advanced diagnostic assays for the CDC
- Plan, develop and implement public health programs; Collect and synthesize scientific information into a variety of written documents including fact sheets, issue briefs, etc. for the CDC
- Develop SAS-based scientific analysis software for the CDC
- Provide a wide range of executive and technical level administrative support to the CDC
- Provide mission-critical technical and administrative support to the Virginia Army National Guard in the areas of personnel, logistics, contingency planning and procurement
